The Love Gypsy
When I first picked up The Love Gypsy, I knew I was in for a treat. How could the novel not be thrilling with a gypsy fortune teller, time travel, cops and criminals? To me, that is a perfect mix for a delightfully fun story. The novel is a great length, an easy read in one sitting, although it could easily have been longer. The characters are charming and their dilemmas are heartwarming and heartbreaking both. I would recommend this novel to readers seeking a heartwarming romance with just the right dose of adventure to create a grand storyline. I also believe this novel would be a great launching point for a series of stories about The Love Gypsy. Readers will love this novel as much as I did.
Detective Brianna Breeze is stunned when her best friend Tessa drops her, rather unceremoniously, off at the residence of the most well known love gypsy in their small town. Brianna is noticeably suspicious, but decides to take a chance and see what happens. When a gorgeous stranger named Dom suddenly sweeps into the Love Gypsy’s residence and Brianna’s life, Brianna knows nothing will ever be the same. Who is Dom? When dead bodies and gunfights begin appearing with a suspect eerily similar to Dom, Brianna isn’t quote sure what to do. Can they ever find a way to overcome their individual trials and finally be together? Make a visit to The Love Gypsy and see what unfolds.

Brianna Breeze lets her best friend Tessa Stone talk her into spending a day off together cruising the mall. What Bree didn’t know was that Tessa is determined to get her to see the Love Gypsy. While she’s consulting – albeit somewhat reluctantly – with the Love Gypsy, Dom crashes onto the scene (almost literally) and completely takes Bree by surprise. Their attraction is instant, but as open and fun-loving as Dom is, he’s surrounded by mystery, a combination that Bree, as a police officer, finds irresistible. Despite the Gypsy cautioning her to try other men on her list, Bree follows her gut instinct and spends more and more time with Dom.
More than a little over the top this book is happy and fun. Not taking itself seriously much of the time I found the tone campy and lighthearted. I laughed out loud quite a bit at the antics of Bree, Tessa and Dom. The pace of the book is quick, with a glowing, feel-good warmth that leaves you with a smile on your face.
While the mystery isn’t particularly complex, the plot is quite satisfying and the general tone of the whole story is really fun. At times I felt like the characters were a little rushed – the author sets a fast-moving pace with secondary characters coming in frequently and small plot hooks dropped consistently throughout the story. But overall this is a splendid, delightful romance that hits many of the good spots. It’s the perfect book to curl up with over a weekend or one night in front of a warm fire with a sparkling glass of wine
